Project
Ankara Medipol University's Faculty of Dentistry and Health Practice & Research Center was furnished under a single loose-furniture contract covering the whole building, from the second-basement library up to the first-floor clinical wards. The scope ran to 19 separate zones and close to 1,700 pieces, all delivered against one tender specification and one approval cycle. The demand of the project lay less in volume than in range: dental treatment units, examination and patient rooms, executive offices, a 400-seat cafeteria, a multi-purpose hall, a public library and continuous lobby and corridor waiting systems each called for a different product family, and several of them — the modular waiting seating, the long-run corridor benches and the oversized cafeteria tables — were produced to project-specific dimensions rather than catalogue sizes. Upholstery, laminate panel work, powder-coated metal frames and bespoke joinery ran in parallel throughout, sequenced so that entire floors could be completed and handed over as units. Material, fabric and mechanism substitutions raised during the approval stage were absorbed within the same production programme without affecting the delivery schedule. The outcome is a building in which public, clinical, academic and executive areas read as one consistently specified environment.
